P6000s were OE on most Jaguars 10 years or so ago. I've had and driven several XJs with them fitted and never liked them. They give a very nervous and lumpy ride and have very little wet grip. They are also more prone to tempoary flatspotting and balance problems than any other tyre I've experienced. They do however last well and are quiet on most road surfaces, but even so I'd never have them through choice.
I wore a set of Falkens ZE912s out on my previous XJ in 12k driving like a complete Pussy. I wouldn't have those again either as on some road surfaces they were incredibily noisy and set up a resonance that you could feel through the steering wheel That's budget tyres for you.
Hav a look on Black Circles, Pneues online or Google Tyre tests. Loads of reviews and info available. New tyres now have to have ratings and be labeled showing how they perform.
Personally if the cars a keeper I'd bite the bullet and fork out for a set of Michelins - that's what my XJ is getting when the current P6000s have worn out.

The Falkens ZE912s are the ones i've currently got on and initially i was impressed, but as time and the rubber wore on and it's getting wet that TC light is flashing always.. I've also was not to impressed with the original P6000's hence why I changed. What Michellin's would you recommened Steve??
Personally I think I'd go for the Energy Saver tyres - nowadays I'm more interested in MPG rather than MPH
Last year I drove some serious European mileage in both a C4 and Mk6 Golf fitted with these. I though they were really comfortable and quiet and had good grip too, in temperatures ranging from below freezing to 30deg + and on billiard table smooth roads to gravel mountian tracks covered in slush. Michelins have always had a reputation for long life too which should mitigate the extra cost.
