Got an itch to get a deeper sound from the exhaust. Have already pulled fuse 19 so the valves are open but looking for a deaper V8 growl. Any idea's?

Sent them an email already. The boss replied and said "With that budget all we can do is a mod to keep your active exhausts valves to stay open all the time" - to which I replied "I have pulled fuse 19 which I understand keeps the valves open anyway" I have not had a response since so not sure what they had in mind.

£500 will not be enough, the last one I fitted cost £800, the only thing you can do is change the box

I've just had the cats on my xjr replaced with sports cats by these guys last week. Not massively louder ( which is nice) but there is a very pleasant increase in growl when you do press on and use the pedal. Enjoying it so far. Driving around with the window down and using low revs gives a nice V8 rumble around the carpark at work.

But... it's not cheap. £1200 all in! But I needed new cats and didn't want to give the dealer £1600 for standard replacements so went the upgrade route with these guys who are able to source non-oem specials, which no one else could due to the newer EU regs that came in a couple of years ago.

Of course, now, if I decided I want more power of sound it's a relatively cheap/simple job to replace the exhuast back from the cats. smile

Looked on Spires website for local agent and here in London was Les Allen who had part delivered and then fitted-Only took about an hour and a half to do
Well made section that sounds good but does not spoil the cars cruising ability for long distance motoring

We are a Spires dealer based in Andover Hampshire. Give us a call on 01264 3333523. Fitted a few of their exhausts and they do sound very good.

I think one concern that i would have for the full system, is how much "drone" there would be for say travelling at speed on a long journey. Nothing worse than not being able to hold a conversation without raising your voice or shouting or being able to listen to music in a quiet cabin.

A good system will not give a drone

I've got a FULL system on my X100 made to my requirements

Even with all my extra power there is a lovely V8 noise on full throttle but in cruise that burble
