Just collected one of these beauties on Saturday after months of searching and research.

Mechanically sound, cosmetically spotless and has a full service history verifying its mere 40,000 miles.

As to be expected there are one or two niggles I was hoping to get a steer on after a lovely get to know her drive across the snakes pass on Saturday.

Quick clear windscreen, as sods law dictates, only clears the passenger side, is this perhaps a fuse or loose connection? Or a more comprehensive failure that I will have to live with?

No power through the cigar lighter, the ashtray illuminates but no chance of powering a satnav or charging a phone. Any suggestions?

Have any fellow lucky owners tastefully modernised the stereo to successfully add bluetooth/ipod or maybe provided a work around to the above phone/satnav issue??

I am toying with the idea of an iphone 5 as I am due a free upgrade and wonder if this could be wired in (discretely) with a mount to solve the above ICE/sat nav issues in one hit. My old tomtom is st and dated anyway....

Any advice gratefully received.

And lastly for the money what a lot of car, really sweet noise and goes like stink when required but as she is going to be used daily I would like to bring her gently up to date.

Thanks

Have a look here at my post, no 29.

I installed an ipod/bluetoothh stereo. I've also added a little sub and I had no tweeters in the A panel, so I added some 2 way components. Sounds lovely.

Just waiting to get the car back from repairers as some scrotes slashed my roof to pieces.

Great car, good choice OP.

When I got my XK8 I had the same issue with the cigar lighter not working, it was just a blown fuse on mine so worth a look. Before I checked that out I relied on the socket in the glove box but it was a loose fit for my phone charger.

Happy to help. Pm me if you want to know more as I did loads of research into the best option stereo wise.

I've also installed the remote roof opener off of the key fob which should've been factory standard.

It was a blown fuse!!!

A service gave a clean bill of health bar the two near side tyres being cut to the cord on the inner rim, thanks pot holes. Apparently the Pzeros aren't that tough hard wearing so they will be replaced all round.

800 miles in still loving it, photos this weekend sun permitting

I have had mine for over a year now and the fuse hasn't blown again, but I only use it for a phone charger.

My front tyre wore on the inside edge, it was a combination of the top wishbone bush worn out and some play in the track rod end - not enough to fail the MOT but worth replacing.

I have Falken FK452 on the front of mine and am pleased with them.
