I did something silly over the weekend. I caught the Carbon Fibre Splitter on the front of my XKRS. I actually cracked it so this morning i called my Jaguar Dealer..how much is the Carbon Fibre Front Splitter for an XKRS....I will call you back sir. A little while later the phone went....Jaguar here sir ..your Front Splitter....yes....£1800 plus fitting plus VAT.!!! £1800 i say..yes its bonded as well as bolted. ...Oh well a very expensive mistake.....be warned if you have any Carbon Fibre body parts.

Repair was my first thought but I can't find anyone who can do it and yes it really is carbon fibre. The car has a load of it, front splitter, rear spoiler, engine cover, rear and front under trays plus other parts. This stuff just shatters and carbon fibre splinters are not very nice either as I found to my cost.

Just leave if. If you ever see a properly used F40 the splitter will be cracked, hard to avoid it! Consider it patina smile

Sadly i'm a bit OCD when it comes to my cars. I appreciate where your coming from but i cannot drive a my favourite motor around with a fecking great big crack and a lump of spoiler missing.

Blimey.

Have fairly extensive experience in replacing GT3 splitters and I'm always gutted if one goes but they only cost £200 (Or less if it's a Cup item) and I can fit it myself in 10 minutes.

Car is so new and rare I would doubt there are suitable after market CF options around.

Might be worth a chat to Dave Chisholm at Carbonology - http://www.carbonology.com

He's done several carbon fibres repairs for super cars and is a veritable mine of carbon related info... Tell him Chris from the Angel sent you!

Contact Richard at RC Automotive - http://www.rcautomotive.co.uk/index.php?option=com...

Explain what has happened and he will sort you out a new part for peanuts. He specialises in facelift conversions e.g XK to XKR or XKR to XKRS so he has many parts on sale via ebay.

Good luck let us know how you get on.
