2005 S type drivers door window problem

Hi,

the guy up the road asked for help last night with his 2005 S type, he asked me as I have an S type so must know.....

Anyway

When opening or closing the window when its wet the window goes up and down but slowly and the motor sounds like it is struggeling.

last night the window when closing would very very slowly get to about 1/2 way closed judder and open again even while he held the button in to close it.

He did close is by getting his wife to hold the button while he pulled window up while it was closing, took a few goes but eventually closed.

not being an expert to me it sounds like the motor is packing up or the window guides are sticking causing the window to think there is something in the way so opening again, I told him he was lucky he did not pull the window out of its runners.

anyone else got/had an issue like this or know a cure or fix, I told him to take it to Jaguar but he said he does not want to pay their prices.

Anyone know a good Jaguar indi in North Kent / SE london ?

Has he squrted any teflon lube down the window channels yet? Might be worth a try to start with.

passed this on, he was sprayed it with WD40 and apparently its working, just not as quick as the passenger window

but at least its working
