Hi Guys

Had the XK (2006 x150) for just over a week and all seems pretty good except I have noticed a slight rumble or groan at 1100 when poodling along. It always is at the same revs and I suppose there might also be a slight vibration. I would say it sounds like it is coming from the transmission but possibly not.

It isnt very noticable. Anything to worry about or could it be e new owner being a bit over sensitive. I do have a 15 months warranty if I need it .

Thanks in advance

Does the gearbox oil need changing on XKs? What mileage is it on?

The OP has to clarify, is the vibration at 1100 revs in all gears? Or at 1100 rpm in top gear?

If the '1100 revs' bit is important, then it is engine related.

If the vibration has nothing to do with engine speed, then, as has been suggested, it could be tyres, prop-shaft, etc. Do you feel the vibration through your arse, or through the steering wheel?

Being a Jag, it's probably cold tyres though. Does the vibration getter better after ten or fifteen minutes?

This I think is a common problem, its the Cats Vibrating on the underside a new braket is availble that stops it. Have a look on the jaguar forum or XKEC.co.uk forum for more info
