If only I was feeling flush.
If only I was handy with the spanners and a spray gun.
If only I had some space.
If only I had some time.
If only my wife wouldn't kill me!

On the face of it, it's a potential bargain for a person with the right skills. Depends on the quality of what lurks beneath the surface I suppose, I was hoping at some point to spend 10-12k on a toy such as a TVR. Then I see something like this and want it instead! smile

do some homework to make sure its genuine, even if it was then the owner must have evaluated the cost to restore versus value upon completion!
My heart would say "go for it" and save this beast from eternal slumber

Is the V12 on this car standard, or is it enhanced in any way e.g. forced induction?

If I had the money and the storage...

A quick DVLA check on the reg number might reveal whether it's a big engined version. Either way, still very desirable.

That looks very much like a bog std 5.3 in there. The 7.0 had much bigger intakes...still a good car though, even for the parts....

It should be a 6 litre. The engine shown in the picture looks absolutely standard. The 6 litre Lister engine should have twin throttle bodies on each inlet manifold and a huge fuel pressure regulator at the front of the engine on the fuel rail.

It is normally aspirated but blueprinted and the one I had was utterly phenomenal to drive; absolutely nothing like a standard XJS.

thing is with Listers, is they are all different. i would have thought it would have an enlarged engine, but i am no expert.
have heard of 6.3, 7.0 versions?
surely you have to go and see it, and make a proper informed decision before deciding whether to buy it or not?

looks to be all there though, bodykit, interior, manual box, so i am sure its a genuine lister. but the engine does look sort of standard?

i just did a dvla check and the reg does not show any results. obviously a private plate, but it maybe in limbo? no idea why its not coming up though.

i suspect that there is more rot than the area visible on the rear arch. as one rear are would not be considered a huge amount of work.
could be riddled under all those fibre glass panels and underneath.
up on a ramp, full inspection needed.

Let's hope a thread detailing its restoration appears somewhere.
