I think the standard set up is strong enough, but could do with some fettling to improve performance.. I put braided hoses, yellow stuff pads and Dot 5 fluid... If in doubt fit a new servo, too. Not tested on the track yet, but Dot 4 was getting too hot around Goodwood (the rears only) a few years back.

I have a 4.0 litre Celebration, I always look at the brakes before I do anything else to a car. I spoke to KWE and they advised that the standard brakes are perfectly capable provided they are in good condition, brake fluid replaced regularly and that braided brake hoses are fitted. I ended up replacing all the calipers (from Jaguar Heritage), the discs and pads and braided hoses (EBC from KWE), and whilst at it I had the wheel bearings replaced. Getting the calipers off was a real pig as the fixing bolts had seized - a welding torch would not shift them, they had to be cut off. The brakes have been much better since, car pulls up quicker and smoother. I did not replace the servo or the master cylinder which I will do next. I would certainly recommend new braided hoses and good pads and change of brake fluid as a must.

You can use a lot of aston martin DB7 parts on the front suspention,eg=bigger disc,s and calipers as they are interchangeable but not sure if you have to change wishbones thou, cos a few years ago i meet a guy who was a jag-aston specialist who was doing just that, but using aston parts you will be paying aston price,s .good luck.......

I'm using an AP racing set up on the fronts which needs 16 inch wheels and outboard rear conversion using vented X300 type discs and calipers on a series 3 saloon which seems to have unbelievable stopping abilities even when storming alpine passes considering the weight.
