We are trying and struggling to identify the nut (26 on the Jaguar diagram) which secures the handbrake lever on a Series 3 XJ12.

We are pretty sure the thread is 16tpi and of course the nut will be imperial, but more than that we cannot establish.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
If you can measure the O/D of the tube (1) then I might be able to help in identification - the old 3/4 conduit thread was 16 TPI and so was 1/2 and 9/16 BSF and also 3/4 UNF (possibly your one)
Regards,
Ian

If you have just lost the nut - there have been many series 3's broken, so someone has one.

Appreciate the help. We've found it to be a UNF 11/16 16tpi thread and as we can't find anything available that size we're going to make one.

Thanks again
