3lt X-Type or S-Type- Help me decide pls
Discussion
I'm still itching about what should be my next car and with the sun shining my itch is still a convertible however my brain is thinking ahead and as I have just taken a middle managerment role with an engineering consultant lol I want to fit in the car park club. A jag it is then however I like both the X-Type and the S-Type and reading the posts on here and other sources the X-Type to go for is the 3litre and the only thing that turns me off the S-Type is the 3Lt engine due to fuel costs. So weighing this up, which should I punt for if I do opt for the Jag if it were to be the 3Lt??
I'll only be doing 50-100 miles a week max so fuel wont be mega bucks anyway. My thoughts are that the T-Type in sport spec may offer a little more 'fun' if I want it from time to time

I had a 4.0 S-Type for 3 yeards and immediately followed it up with a 4.2 (non R) which I've had for getting on for 10 years. There's almost no compariosn between the 4.0 and 4.2, the latter being so much a better car in every respect. The 4.0 may seem cheap now but I'd never consider one.

X-type vs S-type 3.0 fuel economy won't have much in it.
S-type loses the AWD and in auto form has a far better box than the X-type.
X-type 3.0 manual is good, would guess S is similar.
First facelift S-type is on my agenda for next - auto and folding rear seats make it practical enough. It won't set the world alight but is a quieter ride than the X-type (road noise I mean).
