Recently my boot open warning has appeared on the dashboard, the electric button on the boot has also stopped working, the boot shuts fine from what I can see, oh and the central locking will no longer lock from the control but will unlock.

Thanks

Try opening up your key fob and giving the batteries a wee spin. shut key fob again and try again.

Had a similar problem on my XJR and thought it was flat batteries in the fob, but must just have been a dirty connection inside the fob.

It's a free fix if it works!

Good Luck

If the boot mechanically locks and unlocks securely then you have an electricial problem. Boot opening buttons can fail, either substuite another known good one or break into the wiring and bypass the switch to see what happens.

IIRC There is a wiring loom running over one of the boot hinges that may have a break in it. Prize it apart and have a look for broken wires and check all the lights in the boot lid work - if some of them are out or flicker on /off as you open and close the lid or manipulate the loom around the hinge chances are this is where the problem lies.

If the rest of the remote functions work that suggests the programme is fine and the battery inside is OK
