Just bought one, couple of items, anyone know what parts are required to fit cruise control? Also, anyone got any ideas about fixing droopy headcloths? (Viagra?
) And does a V8 rear bumper fit?
Cheers
I don't know what parts are required for the cruise control, but I do know it was a deal fit item. Mine didn't have it when I bought it back in second hand back in 96 and part of the deal I struck was to get cruise and the CD auto changer fitted.
) And does a V8 rear bumper fit?Cheers

I'm looking at a kit to sort out the roof lining for mine, so I'll keep you posted.
I believe the V8 bumpers fit. They don't have the full width chrome strip as these suffer badly from car park kisses, even a slight knock tends to bend the chrome and so they ended up needing to replace the whole rear bumper (£1500 back then). This led to a spate of thefts of the bumpers, so there was a recall to have locks fitted to the bumper bolts.
The V8 arrangement was designed to be cheaper and not have the problem of minor knocks needing to have the whole unit replaced due to bent chrome work. Chris Window at Winspeed was talking about fitting X308 bumpers and lights to his own X300 XJR.

Just picked up my 94 Xjr from a trimmers in Frimley last night. Superb job on the headlining for £310. He is certainly going to get the other 3 to do! Can give his number out but Dave can be found on search engines site under "jaguar headlinings in frimley"
I loked at the pre covered kits and the work involved to get them in/out and compared to this it wasnt worth the effort.
a long way south fo the OP but may suit you Hex!

Are we talk about Dave King?
I'd love to see photos if you have the time to post some. Frimley is almost en route to the guys who look after my Jags.
My X300 is finally showing signs of needing some work. The headlining started sagging earlier this year, there are some small rust spots around the front of the sills at the back of the wheel arches, The oil pressure relief valves needs sorting and something very weird happened with the fuel tank (I think) last week, oh and I'll need a couple of P6000s soon.
I don't know, what's the world coming to when a car which is only 19 years old needs some work doing to it.
So I'm trying to decide what to do. Fixing it will cost more that the nominal value of the car. The rest of which is in great shape and is yet to pass the 80K mark. And I still really enjoy driving it, had a nice drive yesterday evening. So do I get it all fixed up or is it finally time to move on and buy an X150 convertible, the problem with that is it would eat into (or probably wipe out) the fund for upgrading the XK150 to a DHC or OTS XK.Not sure of the Surname Hex, just dave!! I had the rear arches done on Hayling last year, sprayed in along with the back bumper for £700, good job done there too. Now its up for sale as we just bought an XKR ragtop!!!!!!!!!!! Profile photo shows the XJR-6....stunning car which i will really regret selling, just have to console myself with the TWR and XJ-coupe!!
PM me if you want Daves number

I sent the message at about 19:53 with the title "X300 roof linings" you might need to check your junk mail folder.
I finally managed to go and see Dave this afternoon. He took one look at my roof and said he'd never seen one in that colour before, it's not the normal light
grey or oatmeal colour (his colour way had three pale colours he expected to find on these Jags).
My car has the cream interior and it looks like the roof lining is intended to match.
I'm pretty sure the interior is original as I've had the car for nigh on 18 years, she was only 18 months old when I bought her from a main dealer.
I thought I had the original brochures and price list, but I can't find the one with the colour schemes, nor the price list with listed all the options. I remember the cream leather was an expensive option on the cars originally.
I compared it with an cream interiored XJR8 later in the afternoon and the colour isn't the same.
Does any one know the name Jaguar gave to the roof lining colours? or know where I might be able to source the right coloured cloth?
Thanks
I've just checked the Jaguar heritage parts website and they only list 2 colours, Nimbus Grey and Oatmeal
