hi can some one tell me the differance between the mk11 240 and the m11 340 jaguar thanks

They are not "Mk II 240", etc, but either the 240 or 340 models.

The 240 has a 2.4 litre engine and the 340 has a 3.4 litre engine. There was no 3.8 litre version as the 420 was in production by then.

There are many detail differences between these models and the previous Mk II.

Bit OT but I'm pretty sure there were a handful of 380s built although they were still badged as 340s.

Yes there were some 380s built. I thought it was 5 but that wiki link says 12.

Yes there were some 380s built. I thought it was 5 but that wiki link says 12.
I serviced one for a guy in Glasgow. It was a 3.8 but it was still badged 340 on the boot lid but had a 3.8 badge on the grill. Interestingly it had the straight port head same as the 240 and 340s, and it went like stink.

J
