Mine has the same problem, it was finished off by my summer trip to Spain, being black it must have got so hot it melted the glue. I have seen replacements on ebay for around £200 delivered. The problem I have been told is access into the door, fitting is just a case of removing the handles etc that hold it up. I will change it as it now rubs on my head, but feel it will now have to wait until the weather improves. If anyone finds a way the reattach in situ I would like to know, as the cloth itself is fine - just not attached to the panel anymore.

If you look at the "Need Help X300" from a week or so ago there is a discussion of a trimmer in Frimley doing these for a good price. I was originally quoted over a grand from a tradition classic Jaguar car trimmer for the job.
Like you, my cloth looks perfect, its just coming away from the roof and sagging.

I can recommend Dave in Frimley, he's just done my 300 xjr and it looks fantastic. Certainly gonna get my others to him in due course.

Injecting superglue through the headlining with a syringe(knew diabetes was useful for something) works, but shows up quite badly as can only do wee spots. Am trying to get hold of a bigger needle as the insulin ones don't let enough superglue through, then hopefully can use one to spray glue into the headliner.

I've not had headliner problems but I know he has sorted other XJs and XKs

We have replaced a number of sagging headliners. We use our interior chap who either sticks back up with special adhesive or remakes the cover if it is dirty or too much has come away from the board.

Bit far from you but I used him last year on my XJR and he did a great job fitting a complete new headlining, and extremely good price, put a new bolster on my drivers seat too
