R Reg XJ Sport

Hi All,
I have the potential opportunity to acquire the father in laws no longer used R Reg (97?) XJ Sport 3.2 V8 Auto, for approximately £500.
It has done 150k, not been used for the last 4 years to be honest, has just had fresh MOT and major service (inc all fluids changed), along with some welding the garage advised on having done, all at a cost to the FiL of ~£900.
It wont be my daily drive, I have a diesel hatchback for that.
Is there anything I should look out for in particular, or at £500 is it worth it just to go ahead and buy it off him? Not driven it yet but he says it drives just fine and has never given him a problem. Autotrader has the price all over the place, hence looking for some advice.
