Well I think some of you chaps said to beware it going at around ten years old.
2002 vintage STR.

Mine went on Thursday, had to top the car up three times to get home.
Temp gauge never went above normal thankfully!
Steam coming from back of engine gave it away, as least I hope that is it!

Local Jaguar specilist (ex Lister mechanic!) is picking it up on Monday.

I was going to do it myself, but working until Wendensday, so it hopefully will be fixed by then.

Lucky to have a 2nd car, but missing it already!

So just a thought to let you know that changing yours if that age was good advice I should have listened too.

Just to let you all know, the local Jag man did it.

Had to take the wipers and shroud off to get to the back bolts on supercharger.

All the bolts on the brace sheared off due to rust and had to be drilled out.

He also found pipe on ERG leaking and replaced it.

He said it was a bd!
And I thought I was going do it myself!

But my STR is back and purring again!

Glad it's fixed. What was the time taken/cost?

10 hours at £60/hour and £153.75 for parts.
What I was expecting to be honest.
But he did pick it up and bring it back home.
I suppose the rusty bolts problem added at least an hour?

Chatting to him he thought that STRs are rare.

Told him I'd trade it for a Cayenne Turbo! wink
But here's hoping for another year without too much trouble, as the plan is to take it to Le Mans again in June.
