I accidentally hit one the other day whilst trying to negotiate an impossible junction, with millions of mutters around. How do you cancel it and resume normal auto, to avoid further flusters?

Pull and hold the right hand (+) paddle for about 3 seconds. Will then put you staight back to full auto mode.

It will default back to auto if you leave it a short while too, in D mode anyway. In S it won't.

I tend to flick it to Sport, then back to Drive. Didn't know about the right-paddle trick, although that is the method for achieving the same thing in Mercs, so it makes sense.

The right hand paddle thing is mentioned in the manual (which my wife read, blokes don't read manuals, right?).
