Here are recent shots of the facelifted XJ
http://www.worldcarfans.com/114011768917/2015-jagu...

And again it appears that the rear of the car (c pillar, rear lights), which IMO needs updating the most is not going to be redesigned at all... I can't believe they would leave it untouched though, can anyone from the inside of the company at least give a hint if there is more to the upcoming facelift than all the recent spy shots seem to suggest?

Thank you

I read some ware that the grill on the facelift will be shallower, but can't see that from the pics, I was hoping that the number plates would be moved up to the boot rather than the bumper.

I quite like the current rear end paperbag Especially when de-badged (including removal of the leaper).

Changing the C pillars and rear lights would completely genericise the car. It seems that the OP simply doesn't like that, which is fine, but the rear line and the cat's claw lighting are the style definition. It's unrealistic to expect Jaguar to take that away in a mid-life refresh.

I find the XJ one of the best-looking cars on the road at the moment, to be honest. I can imagine this facelift will just consistst of the usual bumper tweeks and the obligatory LED DRLs. Can't wait to see it anyhow!

I wonder if they will do anything to the interior. The central screen is looking a bit small by 2014 standards...

I am surprised they feel the need to facelift it already. IMO it's just fine as it is

I personally think the back of the car needs to be changed... I am not saying it would need to be redesigned drastically, but few details I would like to see on a face lifted XJ would be:
- body coloured c-pillar
- shut line of the trunk right under the edges of the rear screen going straight downwards instead of sideways meeting rear lights - because it creates unneeded fussiness of lines.
- ridding off the white part of the rear light clusters or placing it toward middle of the rear light unit otherwise the lights look like snake eyes. Also the rear light cluster's part that protrudes off the car's body has to go, it is too quirky and Orient, again misbalancing the whole design of the back.
- And the rear lights have to become more angular and aggressive but I am not necessarily saying that they should be redone to be horizontal, vertical is fine.
- Panoramic glass roof stretching all the way from the windshield to the rear screen of the car, creating unbroken black surface unlike the current car where there is a piece of metal wedged between the glass roof and the rear screen.
Well that's few quick ideas of mine... I am not trying to insult anyone who likes/owns the current Xj, just expressing my own personal dissatisfaction with the car's design, that IMO could be so much better with just a few changes!
