XJS Interior colours
Discussion
Afternoon all,
Looking for a spot of advice please. I'm restoring the leather interior of a 1995 XJS and need to find the interior colour code.
Apparently it was originally on a plate or sticker in the driver's door jamb. Not any more, it isn't. I have the VIN and reg is that's any use? Online VIN decoders haven't been able to tell me anything.
It's a Flamenco Red car with a cream/ivory/ish interior and red carpets. Anyone have any advice please?

Hi,
Have a look at Furniture Clinics site there are good representations on there and which colour for which year options. I think it could be Magnolia from your description - but obviously you'll need to be certain. Jaguar Cars are very helpful too and with the VIN, would still have the details somewhere. If you fail that way and can cut a bit off the hidden part of a seat, Furniture Clinic will match it for a small charge, but they have already done most standard colours and therefore don't charge for those. I bought my stuff from them - they even supply a small airbrush and air cans - but if you already have a compressor and gun, be sure to tell them you don't need those bits.

Just thought!
My XJ-S Cabriolet has an aluminium plate rivetted to the inner wing (can't remember which side till I look tomorrow) but that plate has not only the VIN and Engine numbers, but also the paint and trim codes. Mine's a 1985 so unless Jaguar changed the system, the code might be there - again Furniture Clinic has the colour name from the code.

Thanks. I have the plate on the innerwing, but it only has numerals - no letter codes. Is there a key i need to interpret it?My XJ-S Cabriolet has an aluminium plate rivetted to the inner wing (can't remember which side till I look tomorrow) but that plate has not only the VIN and Engine numbers, but also the paint and trim codes.
