Hi all,

I am considering a Jaguar XK and have a budget of around £15,000. I have never owned a Jag, but am really taken by the looks of the XK. I am thinking with my budget I would be looking around 2006 age wise.

I will try and get a test drive soon, but was just wondering from current owners how you find it to live with, and how good the auto box is?

Also, the running costs such as real life MPG, serving and tyres etc?

I am based in Portsmouth, Hampshire,

Many thanks in anticipation,

Paul smile

Hi Paul

I have owned a 2006 XK convertible for around 14 months now and it has cost me zero in parts etc.
It has just had a service and Mot for £430. ( 60k service but only covered 36k miles)

I have covered just over 4K miles. MPG is around 25 and 32 on a longish run. It would drop it it was only used around town.
Not needed any tyres yet but I would expect to pay £800-£900 for a set of 4 x 19".

I have had to have a little bit of paint bubbling fixed as although they are Ali they are susceptible to corrosion if chips are not fixed. So look closely at the front edge of the doors and just below the Chrome Jaguar sign on the boot lid

Otherwise all good so far and it is great car to drive.
If it is a 2006 model you are after then an early 2006 model will save you the £500 extortionate road tax .

Just get one they are great!!
