XJ facelift and next XJ

Hey all,

The current XJ has been around for almost 5 years, without changes worth mentioning.
And from spy shots of the facelift that we have seen lately, it obvious that the facelift will be a minor one, this made me think that jaguar didn't bother with a major update maybe because an all new one won't be far away. If a minor facelift comes as 15 MY, two years (seven in total) later at the most is probably when the replacement arrives!

Dose anyone have more info in that regards ?

If there were an all new XJ coming out in couple of years we would be seeing the test mockup cars on the road already. Also I would have thought that Jag at the moment is throwing all their money at XE and the upcoming SUV and then the next gen XF and XJ being a low volume model is not of a high priority to being fully redesigned. My guess is we wont be seeing an all new XJ until 2017 at the earliest.

Well jaguar made two facelifts and the original xj lasted for 20 odd years...

And the showrooms will be ok because if you are in the market for a luxury car, then you have the choice of either a range rover or an xj.

Commuting around Warwick/Leamington/Stratford, I'm seeing plenty of XJs with camouflaged front and back ends, so I can only assume that it's about to have a face and arse lift..
