I can't speak about the XKR-S per se, but I have driven (and bought) its engine and the old 4.2 engine so can directly compare those.

If you liked the 4.2 AJ-V8, you will love the 5.0 which is very impressive in standard 510ps form but a bit more so in 550ps form - not so much that you really notice the extra 40ps but more that it comes with no penalties. It does everything better than the 4.2 (which I regarded as a great engine itself) and uses less fuel in to the bargain which although not really a major concern for a car of this sort is still welcome.

The car I've bought has nicked the odd XKR-S suspension part such as the revised front uprights which do make a difference, as does the active diff over the standard XFR in my case.

Quite simply it is stunning. It never fails to put a smile on my face. Mine is French Racing blue. Sounds amazing, goes like a bat out of hell. Buy one. You will not regret it.

Am I right in thinking that this blue is Solid Paint rather than metallic? How does it keep up in terms of shine and swirl marks? That looks absolutely amazing biggrin

French Racing Blue is solid. I can't comment on the upkeep as I haven't taken delivery yet. Great colour though!

We get this on the 28th smile

We would have loved an XKR-S but need to be able to carry children so this was the next best thing.

Best of luck if you go ahead with this smile

I had mine diamond coated. All it needs then is a wash and leather off.

Noticed approved XKR-S are now down to 50k but that is still about 12-15k more than similar XKR.....worth the extra?

If the revised front uprights and active diff make as big a difference on the XK as they do on the XF that inherited them then I'd be inclined to say yes. I'm sure there's an RS owner here who has driven the R too. Certainly the XFR-S makes the XFR look like a raft by comparison.

X100 XKR-S examples still command a premium over XKRs too and I'd be astonished if the X150 XKR-S did not retain value better than an XKR also.
