Hi,

It appears that the front, passenger side indicator bulb has blown on my 2008 XKR. Looking under the bonnet it's not immediately obvious to me how to get at the bulb to replace it. Is this best done by a dealer or is it easier than it looks?

Thanks.

Without knowing anything about the specific car I'd suggest looking in the wheelarch to see whether there's a removable cover to access that area.

Go check with your dealer. Mine went and it's an LED unit.

You have to remove the whole light cluster to change bulbs, I did mine a couple of months back, also a 2008 XKR. For the passenger side, start the car, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, hold it there and switch the engine off. Look in the front of the wheel arch liner, you'll see a screw or bolt more or less in line with the bottom edge of the light cluster. Remove that then open the bonnet and you'll see two other bolts/screws in there. Undo these, remove the big cable from the back of the light cluster and detach the washer fluid hose. You can then shimmy the cluster out of the car.

Pretty sure this is all in the owner's manual so check there to be certain. Be careful taking the cluster out, it's easy once you've done it once or twice but it's easy to scratch the bodywork or the cluster lens if you're not careful. Don't drop it!
