I'm considering swapping my AM Vantage S Roadster for either a V6S or V8 F Type convertible. Not sure which to go for... Minor consideration, but I prefer the rear view of the V6S with its bazooka exhausts to the weedy looking (in comparison) 4 pipes of the V8. Anyone else agree? Has anyone fitted bigger tail pipes to their V8?

BTW I realise exhaust size isn't everything but still confused about which to go for on other levels too!

V6 for me, it's probably my favourite view of the car., it also makes it look very individual compared to many other cars.

V8 all day long, the V6 is a great car, but the torque and sound of the V8 is immense smile

Maybe, but what has that got to do with its bum smile

The V8 has four pipes and it's bum gets smaller as it disappears into the distance smile

V8 looks better with the 4 pipes, sounds way better and goes way better. It's a no brainer unless cash is an issue.

it's the problem i'm dealing with, want the v8, but the exhaust is generic, the v6 exhaust is iconic

i want the v8 with the v6 exhaust, since they basically use the same engine block, i can't see how this can be so difficult

Now that we've got that out of our system, to answer the original question, I prefer the look of the V6's bum. However, if I had the cash I probably still would've bought the V8. The noise is subjective as to which you prefer but rest assured both sound epic.

Well, having been gobsmacked by the epic noise the V6S (with a noisy button) made on a test drive and disappointed by a V8S without a noisy button, I finally got to hear a noisy V8S today thanks to Dominic at Harwoods Basingstoke. They didn't have one I could drive but he took me to their pre delivery storage place so I could hear the effect the button has. OMG!!! It too sounded EPIC. I also felt the twin pipes of the V8S looked better in the flesh rather than in photos, so I think it will be a V8s roadster for me... if I can bring myself around to the idea of selling my AM V8S Roadster....

I haven't seen many in the flesh, but the v6 with the design pack looks pretty good:

The V8S looks and sounds the best, especially with the roof down. Here's mine.

Very nice, does yours have the noisy button? I'm amazed how many don't and Jaguar won't retro fit one... its only £350, shame it isn't standard. I'm off to the Goodwood motorshow tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to test drive one there driving

Yes it has the noisy button and it's on most of the time. When you drive one make sure you try it with Sport AND dynamic mode selected together wink
