It depends on which engine exactly. You'll probably pay less for it too so I personally wouldn't worry too much.

All the petrol engines are good and reliable. The 3.0 isn't that quick but it's smooth. The 4.2s are good, both N/A and supercharged.

ive got a sv8 and love it,getting 20mpg around town and mid twentys on longer journeys,loads of power and fantastic smooth engine great car for 15k ish

im looking at a v6 petrol 3,0 shes an 08 with 110k not sure on the economy tho still thinking ? full history etcetc all good is 8995 to much > 4 month mot hpi clear also seems good price but ???

I have XF 5.0 V8, not supercharged, 2009. Prior to this I had two V8 S-Types for 13 years. This XF is a significant step up in my opinion. So far it's been excellent.

Today just done 150 miles back to home mostly motorway at around 80 mph and got 28 or so mpg. General driving I get around 23 mpg.
