Hi all can any one help? I have the following problem,
Turn on head light and dash panel lights go out! is this a fuse problem/relay or dimmer switch? any assistance would be much appreciated thanks.

Sounds like an earth problem - not sure about the XKR bur on the XJR there are 3 or 4 earth studs under a plastic panel at the front of the engine bay.

Headlamp wiring switch wires snap. This might cause some funny electrical gremlins.
