Specialist Dealer Recommendations

Hi all,

I am looking to buy a Jaguar XK as a replacement for my ageing Saab and am hoping to benefit from some of the expertise on here.

Having started looking around, I can see there are still some cars within the franchised dealer network but given that it is around 3 years since they ceased production, a lot of cars are with independent dealers. I just wondered if people had any recommendations for independent Jaguar specialists, as I’d rather buy from a dealer with knowledge of the brand. I’m in the Herts area of North London, but happy to travel to find the right car at the right dealer.

I’m looking for cars around 3 - 5 years old.

Approved used Jaguars have to be less than 5 years and 3 months, so you can still buy a facelift or run out Dynamic edition from a JMD. I would stick to the main franchises. And buy with so degree of confidemce. The rough ones go straight to the trade/auction.

Chilterns are an independent near you. They have a lovely black XKr there at the mo....

XKs are relatively rare, so if you wait for the right spec to come up at the dealer of your choice you could be in for a long wait.

Mine came from Chiltern; it's not exactly a main dealer experience but you're buying a car, not polished marble and sexy receptionists. When I needed a warranty claim it got sorted. Worth a visit - probably more XKs in one place than anywhere else.

I had seen Chilterns when doing a bit of research and saw they had a large XK stock, so good to get some first-hand experience. Looks like they are worth a visit.

Will also keep looking at stock in the Dealer network for any suitable cars.

Robert Hughes in Surrey will be another.
Wyn Thomas in Epping may have the odd one, and I'm in contact with Tasker and Lacy up in Keddd about s car and they have been very helpful so far.
