Another job done! Thank goodness for the spin off filter conversion I did a few years back. The usual stuck filter but enough room to knock a big screwdriver through for extra leverage. Apart from the usual tsunami of oil up my sleeve as I shifted the old washing up bowl drainer it all went reasonably quickly so went out for lunch, marred slightly by discovering the Dennis Compton look was due to old oil! Yuk! (Also showing my age or to be more accurate a careful reading of old car and Meccano magazines).

Any chance of some pics? My Dad had one in the late 60s, hand painted in a fetching shade of orange! Understand it was totally restored and could be residing in New Zealand. Reg was RYB1

If you're looking for details of any of the classic XKs then you can try poking around on www.xkdata.com.
For the ones in NZ there is a book on XKs in the Southern Hemisphere, by John Elmgreen & Terry McGrath, both of whom I've found very helpful when looking for info on the classic XKs.

I don't suppose you know anything else about the car do you? Chassis numbers are the easiest way to trace XKs.
