F type SVR exhaust note?

I was blown away by a SVR's exhaust note the other day. so i am interested in having one! After some research, I realised there was a software update either in 2017 or 2018 that significantly reduced SVR's exhaust note vol. Does anyone know when the software was released and can owners opt not to upgrade? Also anything important issues I should be aware of? I have never owned a Jag before. Thanks very much for your help in advance.

I may be wrong but I always took it to be the move from catalytic converter to particulate filter, at 19my I think, to be the cause for the volume drop, not a s/w update.

I had a June 2017 F-Type SVR and the exhaust noise was the best I have ever heard. Lots of pops crackles and bangs. Probably a bit anti social but completely standard.

Great cars. I would have another one in a heartbeat. I only had mine for 6 months because I had an AMG GT-R coming.

We have a couple 2019 SVR cars in stock and they are great, and as they do a couple thousand miles, they really start to bark
