Advice please, I have a duff battery and cannot access the boot.

If it's like the x350's you can unlock the boot with the key from underneath the plinth on the boot lid.

Hi

Thanks for your reply, there is a key hole in the boot of a 308, its none functional due to the flat battery.

The key manually operates the latch via a lever so should not rely on battery power to operate. That is precisely the reason why it exists as a backup.

It may be stiff due to never having been used, but it's there to be used so go for it...

Try some WD40 in the lock, worked for me.

Yup, WD40, wiggle the key and give the boot lid a few hard thumps.

Or you can power up the car with jump leads on the +ve terminal under the bonnet and engine block and unlock with the fob as normal and if that fails then there's a technique where you remove the rear plate and drill a hole in the boot lid to access the locking motor actuator rod.

Video for that on Utube IIRC.
