Question - As the F Type was based on the XK floorpan etc why is the boot space on the F Type so absymal compared to the XK?

It's a sports car and not a GT like the XK is.

According to a search engine, the X150 XK (4.79m) is a fair bit longer than the F-type (4.47m).

2 rear seats to account for though.

If you don’t ever need rear seats for passengers, the XK is pretty damn practical. I can comfortably fit my golf bag and trolley in the boot. It’s not much worse than my old XJ.

The back seats are no good for passengers so they can be used for luggage. Particularly handy if you have the convertible!

The F-Type Coupé boot space isn’t abysmal. The convertible maybe.
