I'm not a huge fan of 21st century Jags, but my girlfriend loves them & has had a succession of XFs. I've come to appreciate what they bring to the party.

I live in one of the closest towns to Gaydon, so have seen a good amount of JLR & Aston cars driving about ahead of their official release. While walking the dog today I got my first look at the new Jag - unfortunately still heavily camo'd up.

It's got a good amount of presence 'in the metal'. Obviously the devil is in the detail, and most of the details are still under wraps, so I'll reserve judgement until I see it uncovered - but it looks a promising start. Strong lines, good presence and has the potential to be a striking, handsome car in a brutal kinda way.

Unfortunately for Jaguar, whatever my girlfriend & I think doesn't amount to a hill of beans as we wouldn't look to buy one new. But at 8-10 years old and worth 4/5ths of bugger all, I could see her being sorely tempted.

Looking forward to seeing it.

Having seen the success of the Taycan, a premium 4 door EV isn’t a strange direction for Jaguar to take.

I’m hoping super luxury interior, with great ride, leave the harsh ride and fake noises to the Germans.

Looking good. The 'mile long bonnet' from the concept's images is absent.

If it drives as well as recent reporting describes, then they just need reliability and to help when things go wrong.

Choice is never a bad thing, quite how many people will choose this is another question however…

These are going to be well north of £100k in base spec aren't they? I don't understand what they're doing at all.

The bonnet catch looks to still be a work progress judging by the external bonnet clips.

And what is up with the wing mirrors.

If you didn't know it was a Jag you could easily mistake it for an Audi.

And yet their big seller these days is £100k defenders?!

1000hp, low slung, big wheels, huge bonnet... Sex sells...

Doesn't seem an unreasonable proposition at all IMO.

Its a tri motor electric giant saloon from what I've read. Something Porsche and Audi have sold and flopped on already.

I don't know what market they're going for with this, even after listening to the excellent Autocar podcast interviews.

A Defender at £100k is madness to me too but people love petrol and diesel off roaders. There is talk of an SUV version of this Jag but the saloon - no still confused why.
