Jaguar XJS V12 engine conversion to V8

Hello guys, I have my dads XJS v12, engine stripped out coz had some problem. Now he dont want to spend anymore on it.
I am thinking to convert it to either 4.2 or 4.0 supercharged.
I am looking for someone who had done this conversion can guide me please,
is it worth spending time and effort to make it work, or will it be a money pit without any enjoyment?
