Hi there,

I am considering trading my Subaru Impreza Turbo for a 2003 S-Type R 4.2 with 33k on the clock.

Any recommendations / comments / warnings that I should be aware of?

Many thanks,

Simon

Seriously, as with any car if it doesn't feel right it probably ain't.

A 4.2ltr will I assume be from a jag dealer, which is a good way to go.

S-Types had a 'lurch' problem in their gearboxes. It might not affect the newer modles but check it out to be sure. The new engines and gearboxes are bullet proof. 400BHP, I want one too!

And you were asking about removing the speed limiter!

I have an S-Type R and I like it very much.

Make sure you get the SatNav and onboard voice control systems as a) they are great and b) it will make a big difference to desirability when you come to resell.

Apart from the outstanding performance, it oozes luxury. Good for throwing round the 'Ring or taking your mother shopping....
