XJR100 Limited Edition
Discussion
Hi guys I have recently purchased an XJR100 and would like some feed back.Jaguar has informed me that it is the last uk car sold number 81 of 81 and number 370 of the world wide release it has 40000 miles and is now after may weeks of TLC immaculate. According to Jaguar there were initially 100 XJR100's for sale but orders were only received for 81. Will this make it sought after or even a classic. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas!!

I would expect that the last XJR would eventually become collectable. I'm sure that future collectors will see it as the end of an era model, before the move to the X350. I'm surprised that the last one didn't go straight to the JDHT collection.
Was this also the last production X308? that would make it even more collectable.
Cheers and enjoy her
Ken
I'm abit more cynical. Having owned an XKR100, I myself believe it makes absolutely no difference, other than being a great talking point. These 'limited editions' are just a marketing ploy to sell more cars.
The '100 editons, essentially are just an XJ or XK in Anthracite with 'all' the optional extras and a huge price tag to boot. You could infact at the time, order your own spec car to the exact same spec/colour/setup as the '100's, the only thing you couldn't get was a different badge and kick plates exclusive to the 100's.
They are a great model and definately the one to have as it has the best colour combo, extras for a sports Jag.

I remember seeing the ads for this model when it came out.Recently i have been looking at xjr ads but very few cars had the same combo. ie col/wheels etc.
What sort of premium are they over the regular xjr ?

I think the 100 has the big brakes. This is possibly the weakest point on the standard XJR, so more than just a badging job but a useful upgrade. Wouldn't say no to a straight swap...

Yep it has got the big brakes they are Brembo's I think. You can see them better in this pic
Great stuff. Unfortunately adding them to my '98 standard XJR isn't worth the cost.
Therefore (and I know I'm going to regret asking this).... how much was the 100 if you don't mind me asking?
