New XK, Remote controlled?

This has probably come up before but its really getting on my nerves!
The new XK is a fantastic looking car, its one of my favourite new cars around, but that bloody great ariel sticking up off the back wing looks terrible!!!! it looks like a tamiya remote controlled toy! surly jaguar could have worked it into the screen or something out of the way where it wouldn't spoil such a beautiful car! come on jaguar get your act together, do the job properly!
Also, not sure about the facelifted XJ, not too keen on that square bit in the bumper, wouldn't mind the side vent on the pre facelift model though, that would be quite cool!

The last thing I heard before I left the Jaguar dealer I worked at was that the aerial would be revised when the new MY car comes out. (End of the year I suspect).
nice suit, nice tie, cheap knock off watch and plastic cufflinks.
Its trying to be in a league it doesn't belong in. Too many cheap borrowed bits, the gear changing area looks the same as a 2002 xj....
That antenna is an outright disgrace. 90+k and I can buy a $35 antenna at most auto parts stores that is pretty darn close to whats on the back of that jag????
In 1989 I installed an alpine cd player in a car I had that was intellegent enought to know only to put the antenna up if the radio was selected. This thing goes up every time you turn the key. Nice advanced technology...NOT.

In 1989 I installed an alpine cd player in a car I had that was intellegent enought to know only to put the antenna up if the radio was selected. This thing goes up every time you turn the key. Nice advanced technology...NOT.
Gotta admit I have never been a fan of the ariel on the back of a lot of Jags going back to XJS days.
And the damn things always get stuck halfway up after a few months of use. Take a look the next time you see an XK thats a couple of years old nearly always guranteed the thing will be at half mast I am gonna remove mine and stick a bee sting on the roof corny maybe but at least it wont look broken!

The XK is $70 to $87K depending on spec. The "antenna" doesn't go up unless the radio is on. And there is no key to start the car. It's a button. What were you driving? You guys should thank your lucky stars you dont have to pay the UK prices! Built in England yet its exceedingly cheaper in USA despite the shipping. I paid over £70k for my XKR, thats say $140k at current rates.
You mean that they are paying £45k for a new XK in the States and we have to pay £60k. That's outrageous. How is that particular rip off engineered?
I paid good money to have an aerial just like that when I was a lad. I liked it then and I like it now. Mine only went up when I put it up.
