Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say hello. I picked up my new (well to me!) 4.2 XKR yesterday. Obviously early days yet and very, very different from my previous car's however despite being very sad to see the Griff go I am now a happy man again! I'll post some pictures if it ever stops raining...
Quick question, I think I've got the Brembo brakes (they are big, with Silver calipers, green jaguar logo) however they are not cross drilled. Was the cross drilling an additional option on the Brembo's?
Sure I'll have plenty more questions as I use it more.
Cheers,
Graham

Hi Graham
I thought all Brembos fitted to the XKR were crossdrilled?
For answers to this and all manner of other questions I'm sure you'll have, try www.xkec.co.uk. They're a great bunch who are always willing to help other XK owners.

I second that
Thanks guys, will be joining, even the non-member forum seems very informative.
Re:Brembo's, found an old EVO mag where they test the XKR, a Maser and Porsche in a drive down through France. The XKR they used was described as having Brembo's but didn't have the cross drilling. Anyhow, doesn't really matter, they seem to stop the car well enough!
Here's a pic I managed to take between the rain today.
Cheers,
Graham

Love it, gotta enjoy that S/C whine!
Interesting ref: to the cross drilled discs not being on your car. I have looked at some pics of my previous XKR's both the 2001 XKR with brembos and silver callipers and the 2005 XKR with red callipers both had the cross drilled discs, so maybe you need to get them changed. (Although they don't actually do that much, but they do look 'cooler'!)
