When I pull my key out the steering wheel moves away from me, Ive read the seat should also move back as well to make getting out easyier, is this the case if so whats gone wrong with my seat?

Probably best to put this in the Jaguar forum!

My XJR seat always moved, along with the steering column.

Until it broke, and then it was very, very expensive to fix (whole new seat) thankfully under warranty.

It may be programmable, ie., dealer code stuff?

Will the seat move with the seat controls (rather than the memory)?

Hi Have you tried moveing the seat forward as far as it will go,then take the key out and see if it goes back. Mine is about just over 3/4 back and it does not move. But it does if moved a bit nearer stearing wheel.

All my electric seat controls and memory work fine, Ive tired moving the seat forward but when I pull the keys out it will just stay there, sounds like a puzzling one

Try turning the function off and on, by the control on the lhs of the steering column

The guy that mentioned about the seat only going back if it is forwards so far is right, do you sit quite far back ? The seats and memory are quite complex, and not really fixable over the net, you need a good techie on the job, with Jag experience. However if you have radio code, it might be worth dis-connecting the battery for a few minutes and see how it goes.
