Well, it just sort of happened.

Had the Chimaera for just over 3 years. Covered about 22,500 miles. Used every day as my to/from work car + one or two other trips.

Got the ‘fancy another car’ feeling. Looked on PH classifieds + autotrader and always ended up scouring the V8 XJ’s. One or two XJR’s seemed to be appearing at my price level.

A bit over my budget, 2001 plate, picked it up this morning!

Stunning - that red stitching looks great in my opinion - an extra? Don't recall seeing that before.

Very, very nice!

I now feel sick having spent a similar amount 2 years ago on a standard V8 XJR. Patience certainly is a virtue I don't have... frown

pzero,

That's a seriously good motor. I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of it (aside from the bills of course).I look forward to somtime later reading your comparisons with the Chim.

I've never run a TVR ( I've always needed reliability!) and I have to say that when it comes to my S-Type V8 4.2 being retired it'll be a sad day.

R.

that is one SERIOUSLY good price you got there for an XJR-100!!! what's the mileage? and i assume it must be a 2002 - the only year they were made (if i'm correct) - edit: ah, just re-read your first post, it's a 2001...?

well done, enjoy it!!! thumbup

I wanted one of those in 2002 but there were none left frown

For anyone that doesn't know already, they made 500 XJR 100's and 500 XKR 100's to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons wink

Nice motor Sir. I recently sold my XJR (X300 stylie) and bought a TVR Chimaera. I simply loved the XJR and wished I could have afforded to keep it as well as the TVR. Anyway, I still subscribe to the JEC and will no doubt rejoin the ranks of the Jag owners (if they'd have me!) when the XKR gets to be a reasonable price. By the way...I am loving the TVR - I have the perma-grin!

Awesome it is a 100 and a cracking price. If you get in touch with Jag and give them your VIN number they will tell you which number of the 81 sold in the UK it is. I cant believe you paid under £11000 for it well done!! Ive got loads of info on the 100 if you need any.

I always feel a bit embarrassed for people that resurrect their own topics – now I’m one of them.
