Manual XK8! Driven!
Discussion
Well like the title sugests, today after months of hard graft finally went for a short test up the road.
Some in the Jag world will know that EAPJ (Elite & Performance Jags Limited) have been working on a manual conversion for the XK8/R, the first car is our own development XK8 4.0, the 4.0R and 4.2 conversions will follow after the 8.
We still have some finishing off and tidying up to do but drive it we did, no warning lights on the dash, traction control and ABS fully functioning and all original diagnostic capabilties present!
Any interested parties please contact us and register your interest and vehicle details asap. by the following means:
Tele:01332 265826 Monday-Friday 8:30am till 5:30pm GMT
Email: eapjaguar@aol.com
attached pics of unfinished (but drivable) interior.

Hi,
OK, to confirm things a little, we have no prices yet as many of the parts are one off fabrications to our plans and need to be costed for small volume runs, this was the first test run with almost everything in place to prove it can and does work.
Work is underway on finalising items, and the many small easily forgoton bits all need to be costed, an awfull lot of time and effort has been put into this conversion to make it as 'factory' as possible, hence all diagnostics remain active so future problems with any of the cars electrical systems can easily be checked.
Will post more information in this thread as it happens.

brakedust300, It's all striped out again at the moment, as can be expected the whole lot gets fitted and removed constantly as we make small adjustments and changes, the gear lever is now sitting about an inch lower and slightly different angle, and a few other 'tweaks' are happening this time.
As for prices, we hope to have the whole lot back in by the end of next week and all going well should be able to work the price out by the end of September.
More info and hopefully a video? nearer then.
Regards

We have had some busy times since last posting and acquired our own bodyshop so time has been a bit limited.
However, the car is all back together as I write with the only bit left to fit being the leather gearstick gaiter and surround. This should be stiched and fitted early next week if not sooner so will put a couple of pics up when the interior has had a clean as well.
Also worth a mention is that 'Jaguar World Magazine' are planing to run a large feature on the conversion which will be in their February edition, on sale Friday the 11th of Jan 2008, this is also the first day of the Autosport/Pistonheads show, the car will be on the Jaguar World stand for the duration of the show.
We have also made a start on the electronics for the 4.0 XKR (Mercedes Auto Gearbox)
Prices and further updates as soon as each package is finalised.

Sorry this has taken longer than we sugested earlier, we are ever nearing completion and full packages, as for prices it really is a little hard to 'estimate' we could be so far out either way.
They will definately be over 5k but how far depends on a few items we are curently working with.
On a very positive note the car was tested at the JEC mallory park track day on the 26th October by us and Jaguar world magazine, and for a standard car felt superb, the feature that they are running will extend to a mighty four pages! The select few that got to have a few laps were all very impressed and all remarked how good the XKR should be given the dynamics of the eight with the manual box.
We have not got the photos from mallory yet but here is a couple with some trimming finished off inside.
