Does it make any difference, going for the 'heavy duty option'?
I thought that was really the old way of buying batteries?

Surely, the std spec will be good enough? Or would you go for the higher-spec item?
Thanx.

Main thing is to make sure the batteyr is big enough. The Halfrauds battery catalogue listed the same battery for both my 205gti and my XJR. Hmmmm... one car with wash-wipe and electric windows and the other with every electrical gadget you can think of. scratchchin

Depends on how long you are planning on keeping the car really. A heavy duty battery will last yonks but a standard one perhaps 3/5 years. I've seen plenty of people end up buying two standard batteries saying, at the original purchase, they were planning on not keeping the car long, then a couple of years later that they were now planning to sell but the battery was knackered and having to buy a second one. Short term saving but long term loss; your decision.
