Hi
I bought a '98 XJ8 before Xmas and one of bulbs behind the speedo has failed - can anyone tell me the order in which I need to remove dash panels, instrument binacle etc in order to get at them?
Thanks

I had to do mine a while ago - bulbs are common to Ford Mondeo, and cheaper than bought through Jaguar

Ford part no PF1028433 - but check first. I'd change all 4 while you're in there.

Disconnect battery. Pull off wood panel over instruments - I used a length of string slipped behind on either side to avoid damaging the finish. Undo the 4 screws holding binacle in. Lower steering wheel. Binacle should now come out far enough to disconnect the multiplugs. Change bulbs - 4 biggest ones.

Refit.

Drop of grease on trim retaining lugs eases the wood trim back in and stops it squeaking.

Reconnect battery. You did have your radio code didn't you?

Have a drink

Sorry forgot to mention: You'll need to remove the foglight and trip switches from the wood panel too
