Beemer, you'll have to be more specific, are you saying the check engine light is on?

If so you will have to get a delaer to check the fault code. Probably maybe a Catalytic fault or some such like.

PS Time to upgrade me thinks to the new XKR. wink

The light which is in the rev-counter, man, the shape of an engine!
Pretty sure there is only one in the tachometer!

Cheers about the upgrade, but i like some other poor sod to lose the first £35,000! biggrin

Read the manual man!

Is it the terminal 'red' light or the not so worrying 'yellow' light?

Bet it says take car to a dealer, car may go into 'restricted performance/limp home mode'.

Check the oil just in case! wink

I read it. Twice.
Have you seen just how 'useful' it is, about this fault?
biggrin

Yes, it's yellow, the shape of an engine.

Ahh, yellow, don't worry too much then. As I said just a fault has been logged. I'd pop along to your friendly dealer and ask them to check the fault code. Normally a quick reset will suffice. I'd be inclined to reset it even is there is a problem with some module and see if it returns. If it does, then go for a fix.

Local friendly Ford garage plugged it in today.
Faulty lamba sensor on bank number 1.
Hmmm....

Did you get it reset?

If so has it returned, if not then just leave it, it may not come back.

There are many codes regarding oxygen sensors, would be interesting to know the exact code number, maybe that could help the diagnoses. For most errors the check engine light will be set after 2 occasions.

It is a faulty sensor, the one at the back of the engine.

The sensor is £90 and it's 6 hours labour to fit, apparently.
Great!
Not!

I guess it was P0037 code then, could be the oxygen heater/cable harness, and it is indeed a pain to get there. However 6 hours seems a bit on the high side.

My jaguar dealer changed all 4 a while ago when I reached 100Kmiles (which some say is a normal life span of such sensors). As I am heavily into tuning the engine, I wanted to ensure that all is in tip top shape, and as a preventive action (and I could get a good deal for them), I have changed them.

I think Jaguar itself says 1 sensor within an hour, though my dealer mentioned that they rather loosen the catalysts from the exhaust manifolds, to lower the catalyst/exhaust combination for having better access. They charged 2 hours for all of this.

I'd be quite happy to fit a de-cat pipe and gain bhp and mpg, to be totally honest.
(Sorry, green people).

Actually I wouldn't mind different cats too, but the work was just for the oxygen sensors, I still have the stock catalysts.
