All I info I have is that the connecting rods are manufactured of sinter
forged steel, and unfortunately I do not know anything about the pistons of the 4.0 engine (or 4.2), other then that Mahle makes these.

I have had already more than 450 rwhp from my 4.0 engine and still without the need to adjust anything on the fuel system, but this is with a twin-screw and not the Eaton blower.

thanks mate.

the M112 is cappable of about 600bhp i think. thats what the US guys are running them at on their LS engines.

has anyone ditched the supercharger and gone turbo??

thanks Chris.

The LS engines are 6 liter ones, not really comparable. The Eaton is good at moving air at lower pressures and is not able to perform at higher pressures. So with a small engine you need higher pressures to reach the same HP, then with a larger engine.

Turbo charging would be interesting, though there isn't much space and costs would be very high to develop (all the plumbing for air and oil, need at least 2, oil lines, different oil pump etc etc), nevertheless interesting.

Andre.

PS, 455 rwhp is with a 20% drive train loss about 560 BHP, so 600 BHP on a LS engine is actually not that impressive then ;-).

will i have seen some intresting things with compund boosting. so basically you would keep the SC and all its gubbins and just add the turbo (sounds easy lol). this way you get the best of both worlds (or is it the worst! lol). i have seen some inpresivve results though.

as for space, agian pushing the boat out a bit but, you could always mount the turbo at the back! now we al lknow its not the most efficent place to mount them, but the are some advantages to sticking them at the back. space, heat, easier to install are just a few. oiling is relativley simple to solve as is piping. add with the supercharger on there there will always be boost. just an idea. lol

im just wondering how far you can push the engine. im thinking if they are forged they should beable to take some abusse. im suprised someone hasn't tried to swap the engine into something else (TVR for example).

thanks

Chris.

mainly the twin-screw (which is of course optimized with parts) , and another intake, that's it ;-), and even with the stock intake ;-).

Hi Chris,

No pictures for now anymore, as there are some copy cats out there, but with time will do for sure.

Size of a supercharger isn't everything, and the AX200 would be too big IMHO for our small engines, there are better suited products out there ;-).

Andre,

i've been following the twinscrew supercharger upgrade on roadfly with interest.
has upgrade made a difference to fuel consumption?

Fuel consumption will heavily depend on your driving style, and when you use the additional power (believe me, hard not too ;-) you will of course also use a bit more. Will make final comments on this when we are ready.

sorry for the late reply,

http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/jaguar/jaguar_xk8...

lots more on forum, just do a search for twin screw etc sounds really interesting, not sure if the XKR chassis can handle the extra properly!

cheers

NST cheers mate.

any plans on running one of the larger blowers?? maybe a 2.6 ltr?? just thinking that it would reduce intake temps and take the stress off the small chargecooling system.

either way looks like a great project! cant wait to see the final results. 600bhp should be easy! lol
