?New XK - What Should I Pay
Discussion
TBH, I wouldn't buy an XK for £65k. I would instead go for a new shape XKR. If you have a set budget I would go for a used XKR over a new XK.
New shape XKR's launched in Nov '06 are no going for low £50's, ranging up to new pre-reg's for low £70's with all the toys.
But if you do buy want a new XK, then you have to make a few decisions. If you spec it too high then you push XKR territory which has most of the 'toys' as standard. For me though I would recommend you have the 20inch Senta alloys otherwise you won't be able to sell it on very easily. The lux sport leather makes the car IMHO, but it is v expensive. I would say it is essential on the XKR but your choice on an XK, again so you don't push XKR money.
Interestingly Jaguar were doing promotions on this car recently but now aren't. That could mean two things, either they aren't doing anything full stop, or they are just about to launch a new initiative. Stratstones always show promo's but also don't have anything on at the moment either. Hmmm.
As a ball park when I was looking to buy last year, I was able to get 7-8% off a new XKR. I would say in the currently climate, for a new XK go for +10-12% off list and negotiate a wholesale price on the factory optional extra's.

- *** Just re-read you post. If you go for a used car make sure it has the 20inch alloys and the lux interior!!!!!!*******

Or maybe Tata have decided that they need to invest seriously in residuals and if that means stopping offering big incentives, then maybe they've stopped offering incentives.G
Just a thought.
there is still an incentive on - 2yrs APP (approx 50% down 50% in 2 yrs time) at 5.9% APR but theres not so much stock about as there was so discounts can be less readily available, but most can still do something on showroom cars.....
I drove our XK last weekend and was surprised how fast it was having not driven one for a while, although XKR is quite a bit faster how fast do you 'need' for the road?

You guys were right. It looks like I can get a new XKR for just over £66K!!! Has anybody used these people http://www.orangewheels.co.uk/buy-new/jaguar-xkr.h... .
I had thougth I would look at something cheaper but this looks seriously tempting.

Buy from a Jag Dealer. If they are offering the deal so will a Jag place.
Why not a buy a nearly new XKR for £55k?

unless its an import or 'something not quite right' your local dealer should be able to get close to their price and give you better service/peace of mind with it.....

My dealer offered me a 2006 XKR (old type with the old fashioned arial) with 8000 miles for £55K
How do you search for new stock? The Jaguar web site searches for used cars but I cannot see how to find new cars?
You mean the previous shape, steel model! Avoid dealer like the plague if that's the kind of 'deals' they are offering!

The old aerial is infact better than the hidden one. What would you prefer a smooth flank or a clear radio signal?
