S TYPE V8 7OK FACTORY SAT NAV price help please

Hi all
Just put my wifes s type up for sale in ph classifieds 1999 v8 70,000 miles full jag service history, its hard to tell what they are worth as the ones ive seen locally have all been very well used,its up for £4950 which i think is about the correct price,please could i have feed back from anybody who has recently sold a similar car,as they are incredible value at the moment but does the v8 scare people off ?....comments (polite) please and advice welcome.

In this month's Jag World mag there's several S Type 4.0s for sale. Not all have full details of year, mileage & price. Where stated mileage is between 70,000 and 85,000, year is not always stated and the prices are from £5,300 to £6,500. Sorry that I cannot be more exact but the mag's details are surprisingly incomplete. So, on the basis of sketchy informatiom I would guess that a 1999 4.0 with reasonable mileage will fetch £4500-£5,500. As you say they are a bargain right now, possibly because of the fear of future petrol prices.

I had a 1999 4.0 SE for 4 years and did 70,000 or so miles, and traded it for an almost new 4.2 SE over 4 years ago. The later model is a far better motor IMHO. R.

just dropped it to £3950 as weve got a deal on an slk conv,will be p/exd at trade value next week ....a bargain for somebody and not the trade i hope!
