Check engine light

hubby on road to Le Man in XKR. He has just phoned to say light has come up that says check engine. Is this serious or can it be delt with when he gets back?

If its the yellow light, it usually says take to garage and car 'may' go into limp home mode. I would expect that a sensor has failed somewhere, so I wouldn't worry. It may well clear itself.

So, it can wait til you get home. If its major the car will stop itself.
