That's somewhat different to Autocar's figures

http://www.autocar.co.uk/SpecsPrices/SpecsAndPrice...

They show 5.2 and 4.9 for the XKR-S
Do you think they forgot to put any petrol in their ones?

In the USA the Jag is quicker than both the DB9 and V8 Vantage. Over here the Jag is quicker than neither. Strange.

I'm sure autocars numbers where from a pre production XKR and they couldn't turn off the traction control so they couldn't get the most from the car.

I remember now.
Pity they haven't tried a real one.
The figures they give for the XKR-S are just from a "First Drive" so I guess they are Jaguars figures and not their own tests.

I think it has more to do with favouritism or politics, for example, the DB9 & the V8 Vantage are pretty much as quick with R&T as with Autocar. It seems to me that Autocar were told by Ford to make sure that any Aston is quicker than any Jag, perhaps American testers won't be told and tested fairly.

Suspect your right.
In the US I think the Ford management would think... look if they are going to but an Aston, they are going to buy an Aston.
But
We'll sell a several shiploads more Jags that's were the money is VOLUME and we need to look good against the Masaratis, BMWs, MBs...etc.
It doesn't make any marketing sense to protect Aston from Jaguar.

Hopefully now that Aston belongs to Prodrive and friends and Jaguar belongs to Tata, this sort of sillyness will finish.
Top gears first impressions of the XKR-S look good.

I noticed in Auto Express that the XK is due for a facelift next year. Anyone know any details. I assume the 5L XKR will have the XKR-S diffusers and side skirts?
