Would you care to comment at a little more length? Is it worth the extra, shiould we be waiting for the 500 bhp unit which is rumoured to be coming?
Do they still use the same grotty steering wheel? Are the seats a bit better? What does it sound like?

Thanks for the post Angel, but you are going to have to do better than that one liner!!!

Is it any different to the current XKR. Is it that much different? Can you feel the extra torque low down? Is it that much louder? How is the ride?

shout

- stiffer chassis - like the AM V8 Vantage.... better than the DB9 and still comfortable..
- more leather inside but still lots of cheap plastic ....
- same sound as the standard version - doesn't feel faster
- i don't like the extra spoilers
- in wonder why Jaguar don't invest:

1. some 1500 pounds per car and get it a better finished interiour
2. MORE POWER - some extra 50 or 100 hp

my personal 5 cents = wait for the new model 2009/2010 with the 5l engine .....

hehe It's just that no matter how much I try to forget, losing nearly £2k per month seems totally crazy. You bet that Jag are going to up the price of the 5.0ltr XKR, pity they don't try and sort out the residuals. A 3 year old Jag has always been the best time to buy one, don't think I can wait until 2013 to get my toes wet again!

Are Astons quick enough? if so, even the standard XKR is as quick or quicker than any Aston except the DBS.

The AMV8 is dawg slow and I have no idea why the DB9 is held in such high regard. The XKR is quick enough, but the 500BHP car in 2009 will be fantastic. That's why they are doing all this work on the XKR-S, it has, I'm sure the set up that will appear on the next XKR.

The reason for this is that there are too many people with opinions that have never driven one.....

They've been timed 0-60 at 4.3 secs and 0-100 in 10, that's far from no where near quick enough....(These times are from motortrend road tests, they do a very indepth performance test)

well the XKR IS A VERY FAST CAR and i like it as a second choice after the AM - the V8 Vantage is for sure slower - BUT SUCH A GOOD SOUND AND SUCH A GREAT DESIGN smile

The XKRS is all about further development of the chassis set up - read the latest edition of CAR magazine and the conclusion is that the XKRS is about the most desirable/sorted dynamically GT this side of a 599. That is praise indeed.

With those unable to secure one of the 200 XKRS cars - the suspension package will be available as stand alone option on 09MY XKR under the moniker "Dynamic Pack".

I see that the XKR-S is the same power as the XKR.

It had had the Speed Limiter increased to 174 MPH, whay didn't they take it off all together

It's a tiny car with a 'orrible driving position, all IMHO of course!wink Anyone can make a car sound loud, it just doesn't have the power to go with it. AM know this and have stuck a V12 in it and are now tweaking the capacity of the V8.
