The handbrake on my other halfs XJ diesel isnt working. The battery was disconnected for a while and this may have caused it. Is there a way to reset it or is it a job for the dealer? I just want to get rid of that annoying bonging sound.

To reset the electronic parkbrake, apply and hold the footbrake and then engage parkbrake.
